My time after injury in Afghanistan in 2011 where I lost my right leg would have been substantially more complicated without Veterans Airlift Command. They helped my family and I in ways that I am not sure I will ever truly be able to show. Their ability to gather amazing patriots who are willing to donate their time, aircraft and finances in hopes of getting some of America’s finest going through recovery from point A to point B is astonishing. They will forever hold a special place in my heart.
